The hot sun plays havoc on your vehicle, and you have to protect it to keep it at its best. Before cleaning or detailing your car, here are some tips to keep that shine shining brightest.
First thing you’ve got to do is to make sure that you treat your car before the scorching and potentially damaging sun sets in. That’s where we come in: VA Mobile Detail we take every precaution and care to protect your vehicle as if it were our own.
Below are the preventive steps that we take:
On the outside of your car, the roof, hood and trunk lid are the areas that are most at risk of sun damage, which is why we make sure to SP (stands for sun protect and superior touch!) your vehicle with a soothing balm of protective wax.
The sun has a nasty habit of fading dashboards and other plastic, rubber or vinyl parts. It’s all about using an interior part protectant to prevent this kind of sun damage.
Ditto for leather seats, which we treat with restorative conditioners to prevent cracking. It keep’s them soft, supple and 100% sun-proof.
Here are some things that you can do to keep harmful sun rays away from your car:
As much as possible, park underground or undercover to avoid direct sunlight.
During the summer, you have to be careful of vehicle breakdowns from overheating. Ensure that your cooling system is flushed and refilled regularly.
Do regular checkups on your vehicle’s primary fluids, such as engine oil, radiator coolant, window washer, brake, power steering and transmission fluids, making sure that they’re filled to proper levels.
Improve your fuel economy during hot days by checking your tire pressure. Make sure to consult your vehicle’s owner manual to get the proper tire pressure recommendations specific to different speeds and loads.
Filter out the dust. Replace your fuel, air, PCV and other filters as recommended by your vehicle’s owner manual, especially when driving conditions are particularly dusty.
